Bear Valley, CA — The Bear Valley Mountain Resort is projected to open next Friday, December 15.
The resort plans the opening based on winter storms that are in the forecast for this weekend and into next week.
After a few more good storms, the resort says, the Kuma, Cub and the new Polar Express lifts will open.
The resort has just finished the first phase in a series of upgrades. The new Polar Express lift has a capacity to move 2,400 people per hour, nearly tripling the capacity of the old lift.
Larger proposed upgrades include a pedestrian-oriented condo project with retail.

The projected opening is dependent on weather conditions.
