Columbia, CA — Believe it or not, a Chinese Fighting fish and an astute neighbor led to a Wednesday evening arrest.

A Columbia resident returned to her home on Sawmille Flat Rd. to find well over a thousand dollars worth of her property missing.

That property included televisions, VCR´s, an inflatable mattress, a phone, a heater, two satellite boxes and a Chinese Fighting fish.

A watchful neighbor told the resident he had seen a vehicle parked in front of her residence during her absence. A detailed description led Sheriff´s deputies to the residence of 43 year old Gregory Alan Pinto of Columbia College Drive.

Most of the stolen property was discovered in Pinto´s home including the blue Chinese Fighting fish.

Pinto was jailed with bail set at $50,000.
