Angels Camp, CA — Unanticipated increases in right-of-way acquisition and new construction estimates are being blamed for a nearly $13 million increase in the cost of the future Angels Camp Bypass.
The Calaveras Council of Governments approved paying for a portion of the increase Wednesday.
The now $60 million bypass will start at the Highway 4/49 intersection and connect with Highway 4 near the Rolleri Bypass.
Planners say the project will go out to bid in February 2007 and work will begin in June 2007.
