Lake Tulloch, CA — The building process around Lake Tulloch was revamped in a way Monday by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors.
Builders will now have to obtain the necessary permits from the Tri Dam Authority before coming to the county for a building permit.
Outgoing Supervisor Victoria Erickson says this concurrent permitting process is the way Tuolumne County regulates its building on the lake also.
Along with the new permit process, the board also passed a motion to enforce the uniform building code on structures below the water.
Previously there were no regulations on structures below the water and several seawalls and stairways were built without permits and therefore, not built to standards.
The new permitting will begin January 1, 2007.
