Columbia Woman Arrested For Child And Elder Abuse

Columbia, CA – A Columbia woman was handcuffed for child and elder abuse, and the victims were family members.

Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputies recently responded to a residence in the area of South Airport Road after 11 p.m. following a report that a family member, 38-year-old Jenny Kerr, was agitated and jumping around, and the 78-year-old victim had to take a screwdriver out of her hands. According to sheriff’s officials, he also stated he had custody of a 3-year-old confidential victim living in the home.

During questioning, the elderly victim stated that Kerr entered the house and began ranting and tossing items around the home. He said she then picked up the child and shook him, causing the victim to fear for the child’s safety. The victim told deputies he took the child from Kerr, and while he was holding the child on a bed, she began hitting him, causing minor injuries.

Kerr was arrested and booked on charges of felony child endangerment/abuse and felony elder abuse.
