Columbia, CA — Hundreds of local residents turned out for the 39th annual Father´s Day Fly-In at Columbia Airport over the weekend.
Dozens of vintage warplanes from World War I through the Viet Nam conflict were displayed and demonstrated before the fascinated crowd. The airport opened a temporary FAA control tower to manage the air traffic during the event.
The California Department of Forestry was also on hand to show off its state of the art aerial fire fighting equipment.
Several local aviation organizations also provided plane and helicopter rides to members of the public.
