Sacramento, CA — Forecasters are continuing to warn area residents of potentially severe weather on the way.
The National Weather Service says winter driving conditions are likely over higher mountain passes tonight through tomorrow.
An exceptionally strong low pressure system is expected to move into the area bringing much colder temperatures along with rain and isolated thunderstorms today and tomorrow.
Although forecasters say snow accumulations will be light, gusty winds may reduce visibility and cause challenging driving conditions.
The weather service says a second cold front is expected to move through tomorrow and tomorrow night, bringing more rain to the valley and snow to the higher elevations.
Anyone planning weekend activities is advised to exercise caution and keep a close watch on regional weather forecasts.
