Valley Springs, CA — A Stockton woman is being held on $100,000 bail after a 13-mile chase Friday.
The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Office says a Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that was impeding traffic by going 30 miles-an-hour in a 55 zone on Highway 49.
Police say the vehicle failed to stop for the officer and the pursuit began. The chase proceeded north through San Andreas and then west bound on highway 12 toward Valley Springs.
The pursuing officers say several items were seen being thrown from the vehicle during the chase. CHP took over the pursuit at highway 12 near the Double Springs Monument.
Highway Patrol Officers placed a spike-strip on highway 12 which punctured the vehicle´s tires. The car was finally stopped near the Upper Lime Creek intersection.
Police determined that the items thrown from the vehicle was contraband. 35-year-old Lucia Rangel and her passenger, 22-year-old Lacyine Lucero of Stockton were arrested and transported to Calaveras County Jail.
Rangel was also charged with child endangerment because her 13-year-old daughter was in the vehicle.
