San Andreas, CA — California´s official fire season began at 8:00 this morning which means statewide fire crews are on the alert.
Thirteen of 15 stations in the Tuolumne -Calaveras unit are fully staffed with the other two scheduled to be fully operational in the next few weeks.
Officials are once again warning homeowners to clear the trees and vegetation from a 100-foot defensible space around their houses.
Fire officials say that an excessively wet winter and spring has caused abundant grass growth which should also be removed before it dries out.
