Modesto, CA — A La Grange couple is in custody after being arrested while gambling in an Amador County casino with money they had allegedly stolen in an armed bank robbery in Modesto.
Detectives say 36-year-old Jamey Robinson and his wife, 33-year-old Patsy Lynd Robinson pulled off a bold daylight armed robbery at the Bank of the West on Oakdale Road last week .
Police say Jamey Robinson entered the bank at about noon Wednesday wearing a mask and armed with a sawed off shotgun. Authorities say Robinson took an undisclosed amount of cash from a teller before fleeing to a waiting vehicle driven by his wife.
Witnesses were reportedly able to get the license plate number of the vehicle as it sped from the scene. Detectives were later notified by tribal police at the Jackson Rancheria casino that Robinson and his wife were gambling there.
The two were subsequently arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County jail. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
