California Gas Prices Still Among Highest In The Nation

Undated — Although the nationwide price of gasoline continues to fall, Northern California still tops the list of high gasoline prices.

Industry analysts say the nationwide average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline fell 6 cents to $2.18 a gallon.

However California prices remain well above the rest of the nation at an average price of $2.51. That´s down 13 cents from last month, but 18 cents more than a year ago.

Sacramento motorists are seeing an average of $2.43 a gallon and in Stockton, the average pump price sits at $2.46. San Francisco residents continue to pay top dollar in the state at $2.64 a gallon.

Analysts say the drop in gas prices is due to an increase in the supply of crude oil.
