Sonora, CA — Motorists driving along Highway 108 may have wondered what was happening yesterday when they saw a group fire fighters gathered near the Sonora bypass.

Craig Hart of the Tuolumne County Fire Department says crews were conducting rope training exercises in the area.

The spectacle caused quite a stir among passers by.

The agency recently received new equipment as part of a $150,000 grant from the Office of Traffic Safety.
