Update: Suspect Sought In Hit and Run Involving a Pedestrian In Calaveras County

Update at 4:40 p.m.: CHP officers are continuing to search for a tan Chevy Suburban SUV with a male driver that is believed to be involved in a hit and run with a pedestrian in the Jenny Lind area of Calaveras County. An air ambulance has just taken off from the scene with the male victim who is being flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, but their condition remains unknown. The CHP reports that an SUV matching the description was stopped earlier on Milton Road, but was determined not to be the vehicle involved in the incident. Update at 4:25 p.m.: The CHP is reporting that a vehicle matching the description of the SUV involved in the hit and run in Jenny Lind has been stopped by an officer in 18200 block of Milton Road. There was a short pursuit with the driver, according to the CHP. It is unclear whether this is the suspect being sought in a tan Chevy Suburban that may have had an argument with a pedestrian and then allegedly ran down the male. There is no word on the victim’s condition, but an air ambulance has been called to the scene. Further details on the incident are below.

Original post at 4 p.m.: Jenny Lind, CA — First responders are on the scene of a hit and run collision in Calaveras County involving a pedestrian and CPR is in progress.

The CHP reports that the male victim and the driver of a tan Chevy Suburban may have had an argument and the driver then allegedly ran down the pedestrian. The incident happened on Westhill Road near McAtee Street in the Jenny Lind area. An air ambulance has been called to the scene. The SUV was last seen heading south on Milton Road towards Farmington. Officers are currently searching the area for the suspect. We will have an update as soon as more information comes into the news center.
