Police in San Jose have scheduled a news conference this afternoon about the case of a finger a woman claimed to have found in a bowl of Wendy´s chili.
That woman, Anna Ayala was taken into custody in Las Vegas last night on a warrant alleging grand larceny and attempted grand larceny.
It´s not exactly clear just yet how those charges are related to the chili case. Police say they´ll give more details this afternoon.
Ayala told police she found a finger in her chili on March 22nd while eating in a Wendy´s in San Jose.
She claimed she was going to sue, but later relented, claiming the publicity was too emotionally taxing.
Meanwhile, Wendy´s announced yesterday it had ended its internal investigation, saying it could find no credible link between the finger and the restaurant chain.
