Cotton Farmers Off To A Slow Start

Published Apr 12, 2005 3:20 pm : Updated Jan 31, 2009 2:24 pm

It´s been an unusually slow start for cotton farmers in the Central Valley.

State figures show only 5% of California´s cotton has been planted so far. That´s far behind last year´s pace, when more than half the crop had been planted by now. Heavy spring rains have left ground too wet to plant.
