Despite a major snow pack and consistent new snow, the local ski areas are preparing to close.
Dodge Ridge Ski Area off Highway 108 closes Sunday. They received 40-plus feet of snow this season, and opened earlier than ever, on Oct. 30 last fall.
At Bear Valley Mountain Resort off Highway 4 in Calaveras County, they will close their doors on Sunday April 17.
