SAN FRANCISCO __ Microsoft chairman Bill Gates is in San Francisco today to unveil new software that promises to boost office productivity and reduce the expense of corporate travel.
The new “real-time collaboration” software relies on virtual meetings instead of face-to-face brainstorm sessions. The new products from Microsoft will debut over the next several months. The software allows users to write messages in chat groups, watch real-time videos at their computer terminals, and get phone messages delivered by e-mail.
