SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) __ Almond growers who need bees to pollinate their crop have had to resort to imported insects. The federal government had approved the importation of bees from Australia and New Zealand last fall in case it was necessary. Most years, importing bees is too expensive. But this year, with a pest attacking bees in the U-S, and pollination prices high, growers were willing to pay for the trip.
