Foundation Prepares for Community Snapshot

A random list of more than 400 Tuolumne County residents will be targeted by telephone surveyors representing the Sonora Area Foundation starting on Sunday.

Executive Director Mick Grimes says the county´s first ever Community Snapshot will be compiled based on the results of the survey and made available to anyone that makes a request.

“Some of the questions will focus on outdoor recreation, parks, the economy.”

Grimes says the Community Snapshot will answer a variety of questions concerning what local residents consider priorities regarding quality of life.

Grimes says the survey begins on Sunday and encourages residents that are contacted to spend a few moments on the phone answering questions. The results of the Community Snapshot will be made available toward the end of this year or in early 2006. Grimes says communities all over the world use community indicator projects to plan and prioritize resource allocation and as a road map for pursuing outside funding for local projects.
