San Andreas, CA — A Valley Springs couple accused of elder abuse in a case that officials say is one of the most serious they´ve ever seen has been denied a reduction in bail.
Fifty-four-year-old Alan Deyarmon and his wife 51-year-old Rosie Deyarmon face charges of elder abuse, financial abuse and two counts of child endangerment.
Each remains in custody on $130,000 dollars bail at the Calaveras County Jail.
Alan Deyarmon´s attorney Gil Somera requested the reduction and will seek separate trials for the two defendants at a hearing scheduled for August 5th.
Somera is also expected to request a delay in the trial date, which is currently slated for August 25th.
The two were arrested last month after authorities found Alan Deyarmon´s 91-year-old mother near death, in bed, in the couple´s home.
