Sacramento, CA — The pro-abortion rights group Campaign for Teen Safety is challenging what they called “false and misleading” information about the measure in the state´s voter´s guide.
Friday they filed a lawsuit challenging the proposed state constitutional amendment that would prevent California doctors from performing abortions on minors without notifying parents.
The group argues that the parental notification law wouldn´t reduce pregnancy or abortion rates while putting teenage girls at risk of botched abortions, poor prenatal care and family conflict.
The group behind Proposition 73, Parents´ Right to Know, has yet to respond to the suit.
