Sonora, CA — CHP says that a recent change in the traffic pattern at the intersection of the Highway 108 bypass and Peaceful Oak Road is causing confusion to drivers.
Officer Brad Schultz of CHP says the road was originally designed to allow drivers to make a right turn from either lane while a left turn was allowed only from the left lane.
Schultz says the current configuration allows a right turn only from the right lane and a left turn only from the left lane.
He says CalTrans implemented the change because of numerous complaints about the intersection, and the phasing in of the traffic signals.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution at the intersection until everyone gets used to the change.
