Stanislaus National Forest Sends Workers To Help In Southern States

Sonora, CA — Several Stanislaus National Forest employees will soon arrive in Mississippi and Louisiana to help with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

National Forest Spokesperson Jerry Snyder says the rescue workers could be in the southern states for a month.

Other Stanislaus National Forest employees are also helping out the hurricane victims by either supplementing or replacing relief workers already there.

According to officials other U.S. Forest Service employees, including law enforcement officers may be sent soon as conditions change.
