Sonora, CA — Cell phone service may be getting better in Tuolumne County.
The Board of Supervisors has approved the construction of a monopole scheduled to go up on Twist Road in Jamestown. Chad Christy with Cingular Wireless says the tower will barely be visible.
He explained that the design of the pole fits well with the trees and grass because the tower and antennas will be painted brown.
George Segarini with the Chamber of Commerce says he is excited about the prospect of other towers going up as well and urged the Board to approve the project.
The Board approved the conditional use permit unanimously at yesterday´s meeting.
