P.G.& E. Predicts Higher Heating Costs This Winter

San Francisco, CA — California residents can expect to pay a lot more to warm their homes this winter after Hurricane Katrina disrupted natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico, tightening already short supplies.

P.G.& E. says average monthly gas bills could be 42% higher this winter.
