Sonora, CA — Sonora Police are investigating a bank robbery downtown yesterday.
A report indicates that an unidentified man entered the World Savings Bank on South Washington Street shortly after 4:00 in the afternoon and demanded money.
Police say he then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in a grey colored, late 90s model sedan, possibly a Toyota or Mazda.
The suspect is described as a dark complected male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with dark hair and weighing 270 to 300 pounds.
He was reportedly wearing a dark ballcap with orange flames on the sides. He was also wearing a blue sports jacket with light brown stripes on the sleeves.
