Sonora, CA — The children of the Sierra Bible Church now have a brand new facility in which to participate in a number of activities.
Hundreds of members of the congregation and the community gathered yesterday at the church for the grand opening of the Promise Land youth facility.
Pastor Mark Levering says the $2.3 million center has been a while in the making.
The building itself has been under construction for about a year, but has been in the planning stages for at least two.
Levering says the building was funded completely by donations from the congregation.
He says a number of activities will be held in the new facility, which contains an auditorium, food service amenities and several classrooms.
The new youth center was built mainly for the two-year-old through 6th grade age range.
The pastor says he wants the community to know that the new center is open and available, and all youth of the community are invited to participate in the church´s activities.
