Milton, CA—Motorists may want to avoid the Milton area of Calaveras County this weekend, as a bicycle race will take center stage and slow traffic.

This Saturday, April 4, 2026, is the 49th annual Copperopolis Road Race 2026 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is part of the Velo Promo bicycle racing series. The event, which takes place on a 21-mile circuit and lasts 1 to 5 laps, is traditionally conducted the day before Easter. The course is known for its rugged, difficult terrain, which requires durable tires, and starts and finishes in Milton. County public works provided this list of roads impacted by this race:

• Milton Road from Hunt Road to Rock Creek Road
• Rock Creek Road from Milton Road to Salt Springs Road
• Salt Springs Road to or from Rock Creek Road to Hunt Road
• Hunt Road from Salt Springs Road to Milton Road
