Jamestown, CA — Authorities are blaming excessive speed for a single vehicle accident that left a 28-year-old Angels Camp woman seriously injured.
CHP says Michelle Watson was driving north on Highway 49 near Flume Drive just before 8:00 Saturday morning when she approached a curve in the road.
Reports indicate that the vehicle drifted to the right shoulder before Watson steered back to the left and then right again.
Officers say the vehicle traveled across the northbound lane over an embankment and into a tree.
A report says Watson was trapped in the car and had to be extricated. She was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto in serious condition.
