Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County is scheduled to receive new voting equipment for the upcoming November 8th Election.
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted to approve a contract with Election Systems & Software to upgrade existing equipment by the November 8th Election and comply with the Help America Vote Act of 2002 by the June 6th Primary Election.
County Clerk Tim Johnson says the new machines will have a pre-set counter to educate voters and keep them from over-voting. The machines mandated by the Help America Vote Act, which enables handicapped people to vote will not be in use until the June 6th Primary Election.
