Sonora, CA — A public meeting is scheduled for tonight at the Sonora Opera Hall regarding the fate of the Clavey River and its watershed.
State officials are funding a study of the watershed as part of the CALFED Bay-Delta Program effort to restore the Delta and its tributaries. The Clavey is one of the last rivers without a dam in the Sierra.
The river begins in the Emigrant Wilderness and joins the Tuolumne River 12 miles upstream from the Don Pedro Bridge. The meeting will be held from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
