Jamestown, CA — CHP is investigating a fatal car accident involving a Lincoln Town Car and a semi-truck and trailer on Highway 120 last night.
Investigators say the Lincoln, driven by 71-year-old Pedro Hueso of Menlo Park, was traveling eastbound near the “Rock Shop” area when the truck, hauling two trailers full of live turkeys, was entering the roadway from a driveway.
CHP says that the truck was swinging wide to make the turn when the Lincoln impacted the rear dual axle and frame of the front trailer.
A report indicates that the three rear-seat passengers in the Lincoln were not wearing seatbelts.
Investigators say 78-year-old Rebeca Carbajal of Modesto sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Also riding in the back seat was 64-year-old Josephina Baldobinos of Menlo Park and 56-year-old Anita Bautista of Modesto. Both women were transported to separate hospitals with major injuries.
The driver of the truck, 30-year-old Randall Strickland of Jamestown was uninjured.
