San Andreas, CA – Habitat for Humanity Calaveras will bid on eight parcels during a public auction of tax defaulted property in November.
It had tried to make a deal with Calaveras County on a different piece of land prior to the auction. But the Board of Supervisors denied that deal Monday saying the property owner already had an agreement to sell to another party before the auction.
Two weeks ago the board delayed a decision on the deal to get in touch with that property owner.
Over the last year, Habitat has been actively seeking land on which to build its next home. Just last Sunday the group dedicated the last of six homes that were built on Hope Court in San Andreas.
