San Andreas, CA — Investigators are looking for the driver of a car involved in a near head-on collision last night.
CHP says the unknown driver was travelling westbound in a Ford Mini-van on Highway 12 just before 9:30 when the vehicle crossed the center line.
Police say 40-year-old Wade Allemand of Valley Springs was driving east bound when he had to swerve to the right to avoid hitting the mini-van head-on.
Police say the two vehicles sideswiped each other in the eastbound lane. Investigators say the unknown driver fled on foot, abandoning the vehicle in the middle of the highway. Police say the mini-van is registered to an address in Galt.
Allemand was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.
