Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce will be recognizing the county´s finest at next week´s annual awards banquet.
President George Segarini says Thursday´s event will be when the chamber installs its new officers for the year and presents the Best of Tuolumne County Awards.
The awards go to several community members and businesses who are nominated by the public.
This year´s award recipients are Sue Moore for Citizen of the Year, John and Susan Russel of the Blue Mountain Book Store for Entrepreneur of the Year and Debi Russell for the Excellence in Government Award.
The Teacher of the Year award will be presented to Sonora High teacher Jim Roeber, and five Students of the Year will be honored.
The evening includes cocktail hour, a formal sit-down dinner, raffle and silent auction.
Reservations can be made at the chamber office in Sonora. The cost is $40 per person and the evening begins at 6:00 at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
