San Francisco, CA — San Francisco supervisor Chris Daly has called on Fox News to fire talk show host Bill O´Reilly after his comments about blowing up Coit Tower.
On Tuesday, O´Reilly vented about his opposition to two San Francisco ballot measures, one outlawing guns and another preventing military recruiters from visiting high schools.
O´Reilly said San Francisco should be cut off from federal money and if “al Qeda comes in here and blows you up, we´re not going to do anything about it.” Daly says O´Reilly´s comments were inappropriate and unprofessional and he should be fired.
San Francisco firefighters union president John Hanley agreed. He says the comments were offensive to him and other veterans. Coit Tower was built as a tribute to firefighters.
Fox News could not be reached for comment. Westwood One, which carries O´Reilly´s program in 400 markets, refused to comment Friday.
