Forecasters Predict Severe High Country Storm

Sacramento, CA — Forecasters say a break from the cold and wet weather is on the way, but it won´t last long.

The National Weather Service says a second Pacific storm will pass through the Northern part of the state tomorrow.

Forecasters say the storm is developing in a warmer air-mass which will bring the potential of large amounts of rain to lower elevations and snow to the mountains. As many as four inches of rain are possible in the foothills below 7000 feet.

Forecasters are expecting several feet of snow in the extreme upper elevations through Thursday. Gusty winds of at least 30 miles an hour are also possible in the mountains.

Officials urge travelers to keep up on the latest weather reports and be prepared for severe winter driving conditions.
