Jamestown, CA — The California Highway Patrol says a slick road is responsible for a single vehicle accident that sent two men to the hospital.
A report indicates that 23-year-old Samuel Rogers and 20-year-old Caleb Jones of Tuolumne were passengers in a car driven by 20-year-old Taralah Kirk of Mi Wuk Village.
Officers say the car was travelling eastbound at about 40 miles-an-hour shortly after 9:00 last night on Highway 108 in Cold Springs.
CHP says Kirk entered a curve in the roadway which was reportedly covered in loose sand and frost. The car then left the road and rolled down a steep embankment.
Jones and Rogers were trapped in the vehicle and were extracted by fire crews.
The two were transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
