Jamestown, CA — A Manteca man sustained minor injuries after driving a furniture truck off of Highway 108 Saturday evening.
CHP says 27-year-old Virgilio Pleitez was driving the truck west bound near Long Barn Road in a heavy snow storm.
A report indicates that the chain control sign at the east entrance of Long Barn was activated just before 4:30 in the afternoon.
The truck´s rear wheels apparently began to lose traction on the snowy road causing Pleitez to lose control.
CHP says the truck left the road and struck a pine tree. Pleitez was transported to Tuolumne General Hospital for examination.
Investigators say Pleitez was driving on a suspended license. A passenger in the truck was uninjured.
