Sacramento, CA — The American Automobile Association of Northern California says high traveling costs don´t seem to be deterring the travel plans of millions of Californians this holiday season.
The organization says 8.8 million state residents will be taking on the challenge of crowded highways and airports.
The AAA says 6.9 million travelers will drive a car to their destinations while 1.3 million plan to fly. The rest say they plan to travel by bus, train or cruise ships.
Analysts say gas prices are up about 14 cents-a-gallon over this time last year. The price of hotels is also up by 14% while air fares are up by 11%.
The AAA says nationwide, 63.5 million plan to travel during the holidays.
