Sacramento, CA — Forecasters say today will bring a break from the rainy weather as a high pressure system moves into the area.
The National Weather Service says as much as 10 to 15 inches of rain has fallen on the Sierras over the past few days.
Forecasters are also looking ahead to more rain as another active weather pattern develops off the coast.
The weather service predicts that the first of a series of storms will hit California as early as tomorrow. Light rain should fall in the area by Sunday with snow levels dropping to as low as 5000 by Sunday night.
Forecasters are warning of the possibility of heavy snow in higher elevations Sunday night into Monday.
The weather service says the unsettled weather will likely last into mid-week.
