Dangerous Driving in Calaveras County

It´s been treacherous driving in Calaveras County the past few days.

Saturday night, 35-year-old Danielle Thompson made an unsafe turn and hit a tree stump on Baker Riley Way in Mokelumne Hill. She was thrown from her Kawasaki Motorcycle and had to be airlifted to a Modesto Hospital with a possible concussion and other injuries.

Early Monday morning, 31-year-old Vickey Ravy was westbound on Highway 12 approaching Evans Road when a deer ran into her path. Ravy hit the deer but was not injured.

Monday night, two separate motorists hit two separate cows which had escaped from a ranch on O´Byrnes Ferry Road near Copper Cove. The owner of the cattle recieved citations for failing to keep his livestock secured.

Then around 7:15 Monday night, three men from Lodi were injured when the 97 Saturn they were in went off the road, overturned, and crashed down an embankment on Hunter Dam Road, two miles south of Highway 4.

Investigators say the accident happened due to the intoxicated state of the driver, 21-year-old Rick McNabb, who suffered moderate injuries and was arrested for driving under the influence.

Two of McNabb´s passengers were also injured. 22-year-old Brenden Tate broke his right leg in the wreck and 22-year-old Rodney Snow sustained back and neck injuries.

A fourth passenger was not hurt.
