Graduation cap toss
Sonora, CA — The community has been generous in their support of Mother Lode students headed to college in the past, and this year is also very impressive.
One hundred and seventy-four students graduated from Sonora High School and Principal Karen Sells shares they earned over $300,000 in college scholarships.
Summerville High School graduated 135 students and Principal Brett Christopher states they were awarded a total of $206,838.88.
Bret Harte High School had 113 graduating seniors. Superintendent Scott Nanik shares Bret Harte students were awarded $257,550 in scholarships.
Tioga had eight graduating seniors this year that earned 27 scholarships and Acting Principal Alexa MacGregor detailed they were awarded at total of $25,700.
Don Pedro had nine students graduate and seven of them earned 12 scholarships altogether according to Principal Nickie Lamm. The total was not available.
