Growers who farm in the Jones Tract area of the Sacramento Delta have lost millions of dollars worth of crops, buildings, and equipment.
It still is not certain whether insurance will cover crop damage, although some of the buildings were insured.
Many of Farmer Rudy Mussi´s crops were flooded out.
“Crop-wise, we´re looking at probably about 3 million dollars in lost income. Structures, we´ve got bunk houses, labor camps, silos, you´re probably looking at in the neighborhood of… half a million dollars in losses there,” said Mussi.
Mussi did have crops in other locations, however, so he will have some income this year.
He says other farmers were not as lucky.
