Sonora, CA — There was a lot of activity in the Junction Shopping Center in Sonora on Monday afternoon after an SUV crashed into the Wells Fargo Bank building.
The CHP reports that a 16-year-old minor was driving a 2016 BMW SUV and pulled into a parking spot in front of the bank. The driver attempted to press the brake pedal, but instead accidentally hit the accelerator, according to the CHP. The vehicle lunged forward and struck the building.
The CHP reports that, fortunately, there were no injuries related to the crash. Cleanup efforts took place throughout the afternoon.
