Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department Chaplain Jim McMurry said he has met with the family of fallen deputy Dave Grant Tuesday morning to make plans for a public memorial service and funeral.
Services and a funeral procession are planned for this Sunday, June 6th.
The procession will start at 1:30pm in downtown Sonora, moving from the Red Church on Washington Street to Highway 108.
The public is invited to stand along the procession route, and bring flags and banners to wave, in memory of Deputy Grant.
The funeral service is scheduled for 2pm Sunday, at the Sonora Seventh Day Adventist Church, 40 N. Forest Road in Sonora.
Also, the Tuolumne County Administration has order all flags at county buildings and offices to be flown at half-staff, and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection fire stations will also have their flags flying at half-staff.
Donations should be made to any Central California Bank and Central Sierra Bank Branches… in care of the David P. Grant Scholarship Fund… and cards for the family may be mailed to the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department.
