Residents of Sonora will soon receive an informational brochure in their mailbox describing why the city wants to raise the sales tax.
The tri-fold pamphlet — called “Questions and Answers for Voters” — describes Measure I and details reasons the special mail-in election will take place at the end of August. The Sonora City Council recently called for this special election to raise the city sales tax by a 1/2 cent.
