As part of the Columbia College Community Education Program, a class in yoga will be offered on six consecutive Wednesday evenings, starting on April 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Aronos Clubhouse in Sonora.
Instructor Christian Damek will teach students how to achieve greater core strength, endurance, and general well-being. Thus, students will learn many time-tested yoga techniques, such as therapeutic postures, graceful posture/asana flows, deep restorative relaxation and mental centering techniques.
Instruction will also include a complete indoor/outdoor off-the-mat movement exercise program utilizing Chinese Qi-Gong yoga methods, and provide practical ideas on how to maximize oxygen intake with simple “power of breath” practices.
Classes will be held at the Aronos Clubhouse in downtown Sonora. Participants should wear light, comfortable clothing and bring along a mat or blanket. The class is intended for all levels of yoga: beginners I & II, intermediate, and advanced with a “beginner´s mind.”
Cost is $35 per person and the registration deadline is March 31. To register or for more information, call the Community Education Office at 588-5144.
