Icy conditions are reported to be the reason for a pair of accidents on Highway 4 east of Beatrice Drive in Arnold. Around 8:30 Friday night, a 17-year-old driver was travelling eastbound on the highway, when his 99 Jeep lost traction, overturned, and ended up on its right side, blocking the westbound lane.
Then, only 5 minutes later, officials say another eastbound vehicle, this time a GMC pickup driven by 20-year-old Stewart Holmes, also lost traction and overturned. Holmes´s vehicle ended up on its left side, partially blocking the eastbound lane.
Officials say both vehicles were going too fast for the slippery roadway. One of Holmes passengers, 20-year-old Naomi Emerson, was treated for cuts to her hands.
