Columbia College Community Education is offering a wine appreciation course on Tuesday nights from Mar. 2 through 16. Classes will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Fallon Ice Cream Parlor in historic downtown Columbia.
Local wine expert Tom Bender will introduce types and styles of several international wines and demonstrate how they compare and contrast with California wines. Additional emphasis will be on winemaking techniques, component identification and understanding wine labels.
Cost is $52 per person, registration deadline is February 27 and registrants must be 21 or older. The number of students is limited for this popular course and early registration is encouraged. For further information, call 588-5144.
